thats right - the anxiety about being able to get one and whether it was going to be one of the display/demo ones is over now...

but the waiting still has to be endured :) at least its only a couple weeks as opposed to months.

how did the process work overseas? did they not go on sale until a certain time like at GC? or is one just able to purchase one directly, if one finds a dealer with one available?

Just got an email stating that the guitars are now on sale at a GC platinum store. California has 8 such stores. The rest of the nation has either one or two depending on location. That just about takes it, doesn't it :?: :!: :?: :!:

This is what I really don't care for... I mean why should anyone have to wait for something after spending more than 16k on it... IT just doesn't seem fair...

On your letterheads, write to the Fender CEO [formerly CEO for Guitar Center] and cc: a copy to Mike Eldred and voice your feelings. You are all high end customers of record, and should state as such. Perhaps the 'power of the purse' should hold sway here in their future business planning.

it really doesnt bother me too much.

i mean it would work out the same if they didnt go on sale until 4/4, right - wed still be waiting the same amount of time. in fact, this way we at least know sooner that we secured one :)

i think they are keeping up the displays until the concert - so, in essence its to crossroadsa an eric's benefit and im supportive of that (if thats what it is).

Excellent. Wonder how the sales are going? Any feedback on whether your vendor sold to anyone else in your area?

This morning, my wife asked me if you guys had received your guitars yet. Wow!! Even her curiosity remains piqued. As a member of the "It Must NOT Be Loud Society" that's a plus. I told her you expected them next week. She was pretty much in the same pocket about how idiotic is was to have to wait, for that kind of coin. I know that UB has some reservations about the idea, but I would still knock out that letter.

Nothing from Alain as yet, it appears.

Your wife is a wise, intelligent woman Doc... on a counter argument to UffBoy, why not just have one release date, meaning that the stores would receive the guitars one or two days after it's official you secured one... The thing here is that we have already done our good share of waiting since the teaser for this was announced, I'm just grateful it wasn't 83 country all over again...

yes, the part i agree with BS was taking the full paid deposits and keeping us in suspense as to whether we got one.

once i knew that we had secured one - well, i can wait. heck, i waited two years for my 'other' TK built strat so 2 weeks didnt seem so bad :)

i was just in another GC today and they confirmed they are all getting shipped to stores on tuesday - they diverted from the original plan of april 4th...i wonder because of noise from people like us??

tuesday is also when stores are allowed to sell the specific pieces they may have in their own display (assuming purchases are not made before them from other stores that would necessitate them giving them up and shipping them out).

checked out a lucy today too.
