Yes, the wear above the pick guard, the pickup discussions, were both gems, and yes it was around December 2010... my God time passes by so quickly...

UffBoy, call your guy at GC, cause I just got a call from my guy and he was instructed by the GC's management to inform me that I have secured myself a Brownie... They're still ironing the details on when will they be rolling them for delivery to each customer, but at least it puts my mind at ease that I know I'm getting one. I also told my guy at GC, either get me the one you guys have in your store or please impress upon the fact that if I don't get THAT one, I would expect a totally box sealed one... since it is on a first come first serve basis...
That it, it's all I have. Release is supposed to happen on April 4th which is BS in, but they're trying to bring that number closer to March.

I find that hard to believe coming from you my friend, I'm sure you were just trying to make a point even if not very subtly, which I also doubt was the case...

Just having followed the course of and taken advantage of the opportunity presented by the Gilmour project, [I bought an NOS] I was hard pressed to accept the idea of only '83' copies of Mayer's stage guitar and was advocating for something more in the line of what Gilmour insisted on to contract for. I got his case about it strongly advocating a relic and and NOS. They ultimately softened a bit with those crumbs of 500 production line models in black. Then there was the uproar over the polepieces on the neck pickup, and right before the Christmas holiday too. He just wanted to go home and spend a pleasant time with his family. In retrospect, what comes to mind is that they may have taken a bath on that Gilmour project in terms of number of sales of both the relic and the NOS and decided that, in terms of time and effort, their profit margin would be best served by a Masterbuilt guitar at a higher price point and in limited numbers. That's a business decision I can't argue with. But the mechanism of this sale is quite insulting to 'high rollers.' Though I'm not in it, I'm certainly capable of doing so, and I can just imagine my wife, with $15K+ on the line, and a retired attorney as well, sitting here tapping her foot, watching me wait for notice.  I'm pleased that it has all worked out well for the two of you. I would expect the same for Alain given who he is.

Thanks Doc, it has been a long time waiting since I first saw the first teaser, and we still have some time to wait some more, until we actually receive the instrument, which again, DO NOT AGREE WITH, but it is what it is.

Don't forget about Alain, I'm sure he's in on it too, so we got 3 true loyal fans of the era, who appreciate it and have respect for what it has represented. I hope he sings some of the songs in the Layla Album and takes the Brownie repro out for a spin, that would be awesome...

Just got an email from him. I told him that you've been notified to the affirmative and wished him well. More later. Gotta go!
