I'm no expert, but the aging would be detained since none of them are being played... they are merely museum pieces now, which is a bit sad. The only thing aging would be probably the shade of the finish which is questionable if they have it in controlled environment...

They have not sold out, but I'm sure they will, Blackie sold out in 72 hours... Brownie hasn't even got 24 hours under it's belt yet... Again, we have to keep waiting which sucks...

interesting, i did not know that Blackie took that long to sell out....not that 72 hours is a 'long' time

From my chair, I've been bitten by GC before with two of the Jimmy Page projects, and those scars are still tender, so I prefer to let sleeping dogs lie, because, it's just too much energy wasted in damning or critiquing their methods... I just want to enjoy the instrument, and forgo the politics of it all...

Understood. I sent my impressions along with the hope they would handle any future endeavors of this ilk in a more sophisticated fashion and save their proletarian methods for their holiday and green tag sales.

I think that what you did Doc, was great, they at least should know that what they're doing specifically the way to go about the sale, has gotten a lot of people upset, to put it nicely.

of course the timing, relative to the guitar market and the broader economic climate was perfect for that guitar release and selling price.

things are a bit different these days.

I have memory of the manager of the GC in Carle Place, NY where I used to do business telling me that the Clapton Blackie sold like a firesale....gone by the end of the day.

We can have the days back guys...
I could be wrong Alain, but I sense it was the Black1 or the 83 as I call it.
Doc, simply put, that was gentleman's email in every sense of the word, and I thank you for taking the time in voicing our opinions...
Where's Mike BTW, back in the day of the 83, the Limited Custom Shop Release of the Daphne and the EC Grey, etc, we wouldn't post two emails before we had Mike, correcting our sometimes more than speculative beliefs about one or another project... I miss Mike... with respect and little bit of humor.

Mike's Forum has been closed. If you go to it, you'll find a post by Brad as to the official why's and wherefore's. Every once and awhile he'll peek in for a comment. If you go to The Mike Eldred Trio on Facebook, you'll find quite a bit on his happenings musically, including a fascinating odyssey into the Blue's South, indluding The Grand 'Ol Opry, Sun Studios, Elvis' home in Tupelo, Robert Johnson's graveside and THE Crossroads..61/45. If you don't own that band's CD's they are a must. You are likely in a better position, geographically, to see them play live.

Yep...he took quite a beating at times...and a bit from yours truly, I must confess, but he kept trying....always the gentleman throughout.

I find that hard to believe coming from you my friend, I'm sure you were just trying to make a point even if not very subtly, which I also doubt was the case...
