Actually bluesky, everything does look to be in order, just needed to see the back of the headstock... Ultimately Mike or Brad would be the final judgement. I do know Floyd has gone through a $@!& ton of necks and pickups, Billy and his tech even talk about it in the recent GW article.

Regardless it's a good looking piece, congrats on the neck and best of luck to you

Thanks Chanman! By Floyd, do you mean Billie Joe's favorite 50s Les Paul Junior? Because the LPJ is a set neck. I've read that GW article. Billie Joe sweats out his Duncan JBs every now and then and he also changes tuners, too, sometimes.

From researching photos/videos, I am positive this neck was used on his main "Blue" copy of his old Strat...that he named Blue. I'd love for Fender to at least confirm an order invoice, but not counting on that happening. I welcome Mike or Brad to PM me to exchange thoughts.

A quick forum search shows a few other fans here. Here's a video of the neck in use for the first good half of a live set in 1998.

Sorry, I meant Blue! Haha I get his guitar names backwards a lot lol

And looks like ME thinks it's legit! Congrats man

It's a nice neck.. BJ hasn't been relevent since the 90's. I wouldn't attribute extra value to any association with him..

$400 for a used CS neck with original logos removed sounds about right, if not a bit on the low side.

With all those filled in dowels in the neck joint...I'd stay away! Too much going on there and I'd question the stability of the neck. IMHO.

Too late. Had my luthier fill in those holes because there were two sets of dowel holes when I got the neck. My guy also filled in a couple small cracks. Best guitar I've ever owned.

Just got confirmation from Green Day's stage manager/former guitar tech that this neck - along with the body it was smashed off of...twice or more - was built by Alex Perez. He built two "Blue" copies for Billie Joe in 1997. This is the neck off of one of them. The other Billie Joe gave to a family member. This neck is pretty freakin' rare. It was made custom as a clone of BJ's Fernandes Stratocaster copy. The funny thing is, it's a lawsuit era Strat, so wouldn't it be identical to a Fender anyway?

This likely explains the "P 58" pencil marking on the heel. Mike or anybody, can I get confirmation on what kind of markings Alex Perez leaves on his work?

Flip back in this thread for pictures.
