Hi all,

Im seriously considering ordering a custom order, probably team built strat.
I know what i want spec, colour, neck wise etc. But pick ups are proving more of a dilemma.
Ideally i would like a set of 57/62s. They deviler for me the exact sound/tone/output im after.
I ve got strats with 69s, texas specials and 57/62s. And the 57/62s do it for me every time.
So to my question to those versed with greater knowledge than me.
What pick ups from the CS quote sheet will get me as close to the 57/62 pick up sound as possible?
AS a foot note.I ve tried the 60s pups, and the 65s fitted in the Coda music anniversary guitars. And for me they seem a touch weedy and not as full sounding as the 57/62s.

Thanks in advance

I always like the handwound Abby pickups... She has been winding them since the late '50s.

If it's a custom order, I'm sure you can specify 57/62 pups, and that way you get what you really like!

I had a Team Built '62 made last year and got Abby Hand Wounds, and they are really nice!

Are her hand wounds based on a specific pick up or can you specify what you want.

I was in peach guitars yesterday and going to use one of there tone machine strats as base. Fantastic guitars in every way. But even the Cruz pick ups fitted didn't do it for me like the 57/62s.

Listen to custom fat 50's and custom 54' pickups. Maybe something from this will help your needs :D

You should look for Strat loaded with Custom 50s and see what you think. To me, they are the closest to the 57/62. They are bigger sounding than Custom 60s.
