Second owner of a beautiful Custom Shop instrument. Thing is, it definately does not sport regular strap buttons on it. Presume they are special that were placed on these guitars at time of production? Hard to tell by the image, but offer it as maybe being able to identify it. Fender? Schaller? Possibly some other aftermarket? Regardless, I obviously will have to buy another pair. Not very keen on having to entertain possibly messing with the original screw holes & thread pitch to do it. The mere thought of installing a non original or non authorized replacement strap lock/button scares me to no end!

It's a Schaller locking strap button. Fender uses those straplocks on their guitars since the introduction of the Elite series in 1983.

Standard strap buttons should be a straightforward, easy fit.

Definitely Schaller, Fender did fit them OE to certain models. Easy enough to replace, or better yet, buy the matching other half for your strap and ensure that your pride and joy never takes an accidental tumble.

I've had the Schaller locks on all my guitars for years now - for the sake of one little deviation from 'classic' spec, you can save it from a rather unfortunate (and possibly rather heartbreaking!) impromptu relic job in the future. Definitely worthwhile for any decent instrument.

Once again, thanks for the confirmation. There are so many knock-offs, it took me awhile to weed thru them all to locate some genuine parts. Have some on the way.

Yes, it would be beyond heartbreaking to see such a beautifully crafted instrument to have to endure a bounce test. The fit, finish, & sound is nothing short of outstanding. It is hard for me to comprehend what a Master Built must be like.

The old jingle baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, & Chevrolet should include Fender! Here is a pic of my CS Strat. An ultimate example of American craftsmanship. :D
