The original wasn't even a strat was it? It was sum Kramer

Well.... I think it started out as a Strat copy..... he had a 59' PAF humbucker lying around and installed it....... also started what they call "Superstrats"....I think it was made with Charvel and Miteymite parts.....hense the name "Frankenstein"........Kramer came along and Eddie started endorsing the Kramers, so they switched out the original neck to a Kramer neck, to satisify the endorsement......Thats why there is no name on the headstock......I think??? Not too positive on this........I do know he started out with 3 Strats....Frankenstein, the black and yellow Charvel, and the white Charvel with the black pickguard.....but he is known for the red Frankenstein.....

I know, it's completely ridiculous. You can still get the Charvel Art Series he did a few years back for under $3000 and it's brand-new with the same Floyd Rose trem and Seymour Duncan EVH pick-up. Just a money-making scheme for the foolish and the rich (which often go hand-in-hand).

Quick question....

Did all 300 of these replicas actually have a 1971 quarter or did some of them have something else. I have found one for sale (not that I'm spending $25,000) that the photos clearly show a 1973 quarter mounted on it.

I was under the assumption that all 300 had '71's......

go to http://www.sweetwater.com/guitargallery ... /sXN90881/ and look at the pic. It is clearly a 1973 quarter.

It cost eddie $120 to make that guitar back in th 70's!! it was a body from a rejects bin..and he slapped a pickup in from his gibson 335!! it has had 2 necks in its life time!! the original had a 70's big headstock, but the bridge was from an old strat..then he put a floyd in!

Oh,don't complain! Just you wait until the "distressed" look is adopted by the car industry. Escalade with bullet holes for that authentic gansta rap look, anyone?

What you can actually buy is fake mud in a can to spray onto your SUV to give it the appearance of actually having been driven off-road. I'm not joking!

i believe these instruments to be collectors items if a guitar is worth double what you pay for it in 20 years you made a good investment im not saying the evh is going to be worth anything but look at the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s look at 50s les pauls if you buy a 25 k guitar you might want to display it not take it to gigs or practice

I hold a black belt. Your belt is supposed to turn charcoal-grey over time due to the sweat you've poured into it(they're NEVER supposed to be washed). You're only issued ONE, and it should be falling apart by the time you retire.

These "relics" remind me of the stone-washed belts that the posers buy. Mileage is EARNED, not BOUGHT.
