Hi All,

When I check the Custom shop website the specs on the Strat Pro CC
it shows 22 frets, truss rod at the head and the guitar was introduced 01/2007

My Strat Pro CC only has 21 frets, truss rod at the bottom of the neck and the built date on the certificate is 07/18/06, on the guitar neck the built date is 1/06 serial #2986

Do you know why the differences?

Thanks.

Regards.

Our strats are the same however, I have seen some strat pros with the truss rod adjustment at the headstock. I don't have the skunk stripe in the back but my bud's strat pro with rosewood fingerboard does. Technically, our strats are considered 22 frets I don't count that unuseable what is considered a fret at the butt end of the fingerboard. Before I bought mine I played four different Strat pros, The arctic white one with maple finger board which I thought played the best for me. I tried a black with maple, vintage burst with rosewood, burst with maple and a black with rosewood which had the truss rod adjustment on the head stock. The guys in the custom shop have access to all sorts of late sixties to seventies custom necks. As for the dates, the custom shop makes a run (built in 2006) but don't hit the stores till 07. Mine is dated 2006, that is what the Custom shop stamped it that is the year it was made. I've already seen some with 2007 stamped on them

Thanks for the reply.

I don't has the "skunk" stripe on my neck either.

I purchased it used, the guy had it for a year and I was wondering if something was "fishy" with it because the info didn't match. :?

Thanks for setting me straight :)

Regards.

Yep, our guitars are exactly the same. This is cool because if you or I ever make changes to it we can compare notes. Example, I switched out the parchment pickguard for a mint green one, looks killer. Give me a shout out if you have anymore questions. Btw, my strat pro # is 3446.

Later bro, M :D

My pick guard is changed too, from the parchment to a Tortoise shell

How many screw holes does your pick guard have ?
my Tortoise shell guard has only 8 screws, I was wondering if this is the correct guard.

Thanks.

Our strats have 11 holes. They make 11 hole tortoise shell pickguards. Check ebay, All parts or Marshall parts. 8 hole and 62' vintage pickguards have different screw hole patterns. American standard and American Deluxe pickguards fit our strats perfectly. I kept my parchment PG, I'm planning on getting a 3 ply black PG so I'll have three to alternate. It'll be like having a new strat every year.
I played for 3 hours last night and I'll say it again, I love my pro.

I am going to take the pickguard off and see how many holes there is on the body, some how the previous owner has a 8 hole pickguard on the guitar.

I want to get a engine turned black anodized alum guard, I think it will look sweet 8) . Yep, when you get started on the Pro it is hard to put in down :)

Regards.

Good call on the Anodized alum PG. I want to check it out after you throw it on. The guy who had the guitar before you may have drilled new holes to accomodate the 8 hole PG. When you take it off let me know.

Not withstanding all the back and forth, I'd email them at consumerrelations@fender.com and ask about the variations you've observed and the 'why'? If you've followed the thread on the CS Clapton TBX question, you'll understand why I suggest this. I'd bet they send you a reply to the extent that they reserve the right to make changes, upgrade and or improve, add or delete, without notice.

As far as the screw pattern.....if a guitar is a throw back to 50's vintage, it will have 8 screws and a one-ply guard. The current catalog shows 11.

I don't have the start date as to when the number was upped readily available at this writing but it can be found.

Doc

Regards.

Hi

Thanks for the tip Doc, I used the link you supplied and they got back to me the next day. :o

It appears the Strat Pro was originally introduced in 01/2006, it was changed to 22 frets from the 21 frets and re introduced in 01/2007.

Thanks for the help.

Regards.

Will a HSS white pearloid pickguard taken from a MIM Anniversary Strat work?

Thanks!

When I took the PG off the rout on my pro is for 3 single coils. If you have the right rout the PG you mentioned probably will work.

Newbo & Murdo..., hi

Well, is good to find out that I'm not the onlyone with those questions about my 2006 Fender® Custom Shop Stratocaster® Pro Closet Classic.
I used to see pictures of them and found the same differences. Had some questions...It's been a relief to clarify all of them here.
Don't get me wrong...I love my Pro and it plays like butter, but now I have other interests and need the money to achieve them.
It's a 2 Tone sunburst.

Thanks guys! (I'm new in "forums")
