Hi Folks,

I have a Strat Pro and I was wondering what exactly is "grease bucket" and what does it do? Also Would a Strat Pro have "S1" in it ? specs don't show it has.

Hope these questions are not too stupid :?

Thanks.

Regards.

Not stupid... there's been a lot of head-scratching over this one.

AS I understand it, the Greasebucket makes the "bassier" tone setting on your guitar more usable. In a normal circuit, when you crank down the tone control you end up with a resonant peak that sounds kind of "boomy" (because of interaction between the controls). The Greasebucket filters that resonant peak, so that low tone settings lose that boomy quality.

At least, that's how it was explained to me. maybe someone from Fender can be more clear.

Howdy!
The tone control developed at Fender gives you some loading, without losing gain. It was developed for a guitar we were making for Billy F. Gibbons. The term "Greasebucket" comes from that can my mom used to keep on the stove where she'd pour the excess bacon grease. That stuff was good to make gravy with. As with the guitar, you crank it up, add some of that "grease" and mannnnn, it sounds KILLA!

Thanks for the info :)

Can I bug you for some more info.

When I check the Custom shop website the specs on the Strat Pro CC
it shows 22 frets, truss rod at the head and the guitar was introduced 01/2007

My Strat Pro CC only has 21 frets, truss rod at the bottom of the neck and the built date on the certificate is 07/18/06, on the guitar neck the built date is 1/06 serial #2986

Do you know why the differences?

Thanks for yor help!

Regards.

Hi Murdochart,

How many frets does your Pro have?
does your truss rod adjust at the head or the bottom of the neck?
What year is yours?

Thanks,

Regards.

I dig em, I play through a Marshall JVM 410 and a Fender 65' Princeton. I have everything set up the way I love it. Some people don't like them and to each his own. Personally, I think people get a little to anal in search of that "perfect sound."
