Deep Purple - New York 1973 concert. What kind of tremolo is installed on Ritchie`s strat?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AL73LYo64A

this is neither traditional vintage, nor modern 2-point.

Any suggestions are welcomed

I thought his trems were traditional...but I could be wrong, of course. He did have custom made trem arms though. One, at least, was quarter inch thick steel!

I'm going to guess it was custom made. In those days there were machine shops around, and it would've been easier to have something like that done. If you look, it looks like there are Fender saddles on there, or at least very similar ones, which indicates a custom job, since new bridges would've come with new saddles. The sound of the strat also makes me think that it is a very HEAVY bridge - a custom piece from a machine shop would probably be basic low carbon, cold rolled steel, which would give it that sound. It also looks to me like it is polished instead of plated.

Also, that is pretty early for anything aftermarket. This is before the days of all of those parts catalogs, and while I don't know the exact start dates of most of those companies, I can't think of any that were selling a lot of stuff by '73.
