Hi, newbie here. Was hoping someone can help me out. I recently got a Strat that has a Mim neck on it with Tex Mex pickups in it and I totally love it. My question is, when I got it the person I got it from pulled out a Ebay packing slip and it says the body was owned by Debbie Davies, the blues guitar player. So I emailed her and gave her the info on the paper given to me, where it shipped from and the sellers name. She confirmed it was indeed hers and confirmed the person who sold it on Ebay. So that made me happy that its legit hers. I looked up pictures on the net of it and found many of her playing it on stage and it showed the neck being Fender Custom Shop. So I took the neck off and pulled the pickguard to look inside and theres no identifing marks or anything and didnt know if someone could tell by looking at pics of it. Any info would help. I havent figured out how to put the picture on here but can put a link on here to view it. Again thanks![img][img=http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5051/debbieblueinside.th.jpg]

It looks to me like a Made In Mexico body from the pickup routs and the tooling hole.

I was wondering about that possibilty. Seems odd that she would have a Custom Shop neck on a Mim body like that but I guess its a possibilty.

Well been doing a little Ebay surfing and looking at bodies. Found a bunch of bodies being sold as USA bodies that lookjust like mine with the nickel size holes in the same spot as mine. The only difference being the neck pickup route being smaller. But she may have had it routed bigger as she used a Gibon humbucker in the neck. Any thoughts?

DId she explain why the headstock on your guitar is reversed from all the ones shown in her videos?

Looks to me like it has been tampered with. I don't know how you concluded the neck was a Custom Shop neck.

The body was bought bare. The guy I got it for put the neck and pick guard and pickups on it. The more I look at it you can clearly see that the neck pickup route was made bigger before it was shielded. And unfortunately any sticker with a serial number was removed during the shielding process. I was hoping to identify it easeily but that doesn't seem to be the case. I plan on keeping it for sure so it's not that big of deal. Just would've been nice to know. The only thing I plan on changing is the neck to an American version.

Most people call guitars like that "Partscasters". Ohers call them "fakes".

and im cool with that. it still is a sweet guitar that sounds and plays damn good, even with a Mim neck on it. Hell everyones favorite blues player, Mr. SRV's main guitar that everyone loves could be called a "partscaster" as he changed the neck a couple times, changed the tremolo. EVH had a bunch of different necks and trems on his "Frankenstrat". When ya gig on a regular basis most guitar players never play a buy off the shelf guitar, they always seem to change something about their instrument to make it to their liking.
