He doesn't have the answers, and neither did I.
He was giving you the phone numbers and contact info so that you could get the proper answers.

Sure, but he didn't answer my questions. If the links are the best you can give (by some nice person who wants to help), I was very wrong to ask.

Mr. Eldred did not answer your question because as the head of the Custom Shop, he has no role in what the Visitor Center does. The guitars built through the Visitor Center are built by selected individuals from the regular production line, not from the Custom Shop.

Since Mr. Eldred is not responsible for answering your question, M40A1 kindly provided you with the information where you could get your quesions answered.

In my opinion you owe both Mr. Eldred and M40A1 an apology for your rudeness. If you choose to return to the Fender forums, make sure you learn some manners before you do.

I would guess that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to predict what an instrument built that way will cost. It really depends on the parts you choose to make up your guitar. I, for instance, might like a flamed maple neck on a light ash Telecaster body, while you might want an alder Stratocaster with a rosewood fingerboard, and a humbucker and two single coils.
Of course you have a choice of necks and bodies, but the chances are that there will be variations in cost that can't be ascertained until the instrument is completed!

However, it is a cool idea, and I have been to the visitor Center and looked at the parts available. I could easily make a guitar there...but I have got "almost" enough already! :)

Ok, in this forum is only fans. Sorry fans. I was trying to just ask approxiametely price. I thought they (Fender) is trying to sell their products? I'm not going to say sorry for anybody, I'm just a customer. You can ban me if you like. Whatever. I was stupid to ask simple questions as a customer and a fan. That's all.

I notice from your profile that your last posts were two years ago. You were rude then to the people who tried to help you and you are even ruder now. That's a shame. You were given the information necessary to answer your question but you chose to ignore it. That is even more of a shame.

Wow! I was had the same idea of Fender having "build a guitar" shops all over the country about a gear or so ago.

My idea was that you would pick out finished parts and someone would do the wiring while you waited. Then you would have the ability to put the thing together yourself at the shop.

Sounds very cool to have the something like it at the visitor's center.

The approx price will be the one of a standard USA strat. Because that's what it is. And I think you're too rude, people are friendly and helpful here.

Cheers

Welcome! I hope you call them and post back ... and send a pic of the guitar, if you buy one. OK?

Cheers

Well, my original idea was pick up the different parts and put them together THERE. I can always buy guitar wherever, but this sounded so excited as I saw it in Corana. I rather see the guitar first than just let somebody mail it to me.
But thanks for the only answer that made sense:)

That's the idea behind it. You go there, you choose from the components, you have Fender assemble it for you. In my understanding, there is not too much selection possible, of course it will be rather standardized. But yes, it's a nice idea. Keep us posted if you do it, OK?

Cheers

Dave who runs that Visitor Center told me last year that the price starts at around $1600 (USD) plus tax and shipping.

You go to that room, pick the body, pick the neck, pick the electronics, pick the hardware (I could be wrong but I think you can only choose the color of your hardware). And you can also specify the engraving on the neck plate.

Your order will go to the production line (not Custom Shop) to be completed. They will use the very parts that you picked. I was told that they'll get it done in about two weeks.

while my answer is factual to the best of my knowledge, I honestly took the time to write it just to see what happens. :P

+1

Even though, to many members of this forum, Mike Eldred might appear to be the face of Fender Guitars (and we're very thankful for his participation), he is not the official representative for all aspects of Fender Guitars. He's really the face of the Fender CS.

Thanks, Mike for all of the CS videos you do and questions you answer.
