i assume that mine is different model since the strat plus ultra jas a bolted neck.

There's always the possibility that it was a special order. It does seem to have all the features of the Strat Ultra, but with a set neck.
You could get in touch with consumerrelations@fender.com and they may be able to shed some light on it!

Many Strats Plus Ultra have set necks, so nothing unique.
Please consult the link to xhefri'site as suggested.

In early 90s catalogs these are listed as "Setneck Stratocaster". I had one and it was also written on the COA. Great guitars!!

Thanks for the pics and additional info Alain. Xhefri's site seemed to only show bolt-ons...unless I've missed something! :?

Indeed and the ebony fretboard gives a soft sound with lots of harmonics.

Hello, Racepak,

I know it's been over a year since you posted your question, but I wanted to ask if you got an answer :?:

Oddly enough, I own the exact same guitar, only my SN is "CN200806". Same color, same set neck, Lace PUs, pickguard color, LSR roller nut, locking tuners, mini switch...the works :!: I bought mine used, but it is supposed to be a U.S. Ultra. I've sent Fender a request for info based on the SN alone, so I'll see if they can help.

Do you still have yours? I've always loved mine, so I'm assuming you feel the same and are hoarding yours as I do. :D

Yours,

reedrainey

Don't know how the rest of you feel, but every time one of those 20 some odd year old guitars turns up, or Alain unlocks his vault for a moment and lets the light and air in, I think to myself that the Custom Shop is not building them like they used to. :?
