I'm going to order Strat Custom shop, just want to know some more information about V shape neck.

I got the neck dimension form http://support.fendercs.com/downloads/FCS%20Neck%20Profiles.pdf

it's show 57 Soft “V” 1st fret 0.850" 12th fret 0.980"
and 10/56 Large “V” 1st fret 0.880" 12th fret 0.980"
but there is no Modern "V" neck dimension

I have tried on both neck already, so I liked 57 soft V more than 10/56 Large V
but I can't find Modern "V" neck to compare (see the Quote Sheet show 3 "V" Neck shapes http://support.fendercs.com/downloads/2012%20FCS%20Quote%20Guide.pdf

Can anyone tell me how different between Modern "V" and 57 Soft “V”?
Or can someone tell me what's Modern "V" neck dimension

Thank you!

There's no modern V. Only the C uses the contemporary backshape.

The closest neck shape to the so-called modern V is the "Clapton" profile.

Warmoth offers a Clapton neck with a compound radius.

You've touched on one of the most controversial and frequently challenged subjects on the Forums. Fender is not always clear about it's neck descriptions and the 'feel' of the neck cannot be ascertained from numbers. As Chromeface indicated, the sleekest v-carve profile is on the Clapton. There's a modified v-neck on the '57 VHR[Hotrod]. In that you've placed your order be sure that your dealer makes it perfectly clear to the luthier who is building your guitar that you want the Clapton neck. Not knowing what type of fretboard you've ordered I can tell you from experience that if you ordered a rosewood board the neck may have a thicker feel to it than if it were solid maple without a laminated board. Good luck.
