Last year in september I have ordered a lefty 62 PBass (no big deal, no fancy extras) through my german CS dealer and I was told that this Bass is going to be a Team-Built bass and it will last 6-8 month to be delivered.

In february I let my dealer asked at Fender how things are going and when my Bass is going to be delivered - then I got an official Fender info that my Bass will arrive in march. Since then no Bass arrived - so yesterday I let my dealer ask again at Fender and I got the info that Fender said that the Bass should have been here since some time. Ok, next step was asking at the Custom Shop and today I got the info from my dealer that Fender now says the Bass will be here at the end of july - this are again 3 full month to wait.... :x

I'm a lefty and since I sold my old CS PBass to afford the new one I don't have one (and I do play a lot gigs and do studio work where I would need a Pbass) and I really feel punked !!!!! If you're lefty and don't have the possibility to go into a shop and buy a Pbass that you like you feel great when you get an info like "it'll be here next month" (which I got in february - and then nothing happens only a note 1 month later that the Bass will come in three month and this will be a waiting time of 10 month in the end.

Don't get me wrong I love my Fenders (I do have an incredible Dennis Galuszka Jazz Bass that was built for my 2,5 years ago which is my main Bass) but this really feels FRUSTRATING  !!!!!!!!!!!

Let's get the order number see what has happened here. Sounds like there is more to the story.

Not to interfere but you say:
"I'm a lefty and since I sold my old CS PBass to afford the new one I don't have one "
"I do have an incredible Dennis Galuszka Jazz Bass that was built for my 2,5 years ago which is my main Bass"
Should make the bridge in-between.
But I may understand some possible frustration, somewhere

@ Mike :

Thank you - I'll contact my dealer on monday and let you know after this - hopefully with the number.

@ alain :

Yes - I'm a happy Fender player :D - and I do play Jazz Bass 90% of the time and my Master Build Jazz Bass just has it - it turned out to be the best Bass that I've ever had.

BUT - when I have ordered the Master Built 3 years ago I also have ordered a CS 57 PBass (it was Team Build) - but as we leftys do have to buy an instrument (or and let it build for us) first and then we are able to try it and see if we like it  - I just found out that the Ash / Maple combination of the PBass did not fit my playing style - I need the 60ies Alder / RW combo.

So I had to sell the PBass to be able to afford a new one... and since that time it's a big pain to be without a PBass.... and hopefully it is clear why I got frustrated since yesterday - when a promised Bass suddenly just needs 4 month longer and you don't get informed about that happening....

- Order was placed Oct 11 2011
- Due to ship in July

So, the bass that was quoted 6-8 months (from the dealer I guess?) will actually ship in 9 months making it one month shy of the quoted date. That would be because of our backorder at this time. Sorry for the delay. We are working on getting that wait time down further.

Thanks Mike !

The Bass was ordered in october ??? My dealer told me on the 16th of september that my Bass was officially ordered at Fender from this date on.... :?:

Yes my dealer told my that the delivery time was quoted 6-8 month.

What gets me really interessted in is : How could Fender made the announcement in february that my Bass will be ready and shipped somewhere in march then ??? Did they thought it will be ready and it wasn't ?

From "somewhere in march" to july are 4 month between.... how could this happen ? :)

Btw. : the latest news from my dealer (which they get their informations from the Fender CS lounge in Düsseldorf/germany is that my Bass should be here in 4-6 weeks ... is that a mystery again or sth. to believe in ? :)

Hope you can answer my questions and thank you again for your help !

You should talk to Fender Germany about it. They will be able to get to the bottom of it quicker than I can.
