You guys have been a tremendous help, but I have another question.

For the relic folk out there, or the VERY knowledgeable Fender Jedi Masters.

I just got my Gilmour Relic today. It has been a very long 4 year wait. I can not begin to tell you how happy I was to get it. The UPS guy dropped it off, and I sat and looked at the box in my foyer for a good 5 minutes, expecting to wake up from a dream.

Well I opened it up and it was like Indy seeing the Lost Ark. I mean the smell when I cracked the case open was wonderful.

I digress....on stupid question. Are all relic finishes the same? Or are they slightly different? Looking at pics versus mine, they slightly different. To give you an example, the paint chip on near the strap knob on the top horn. Some chips are right at the edge, mine is a little lower.

Sorry again, but I am like a new father with this guitar :D :D

Why do some appear to be "beat" worse than others.

On some models there is a large vertical scratch, that is indented, not through the paint on the upper body of the guitar. While some models, like mine do not have it. I do have quite a bit of etching on mine.

I mean they have to some extent keep them similar, and they are. But should it bother me that a majority of the ones that I see out there have the paint missing near the top strap button, while on mine it is a tad lower?

I bought this second hand from Wildwood, and just want to make sure I got the real deal. There is so much stuff out there that is copied, that I just want to be sure that mine is REAL, and that I should not be concerned with where a scratch or indent is.

That at the end of the day IT IS a Gilmour Relic.

Thanks again!!

She came from Wilwood.

I mentioned in a previous post that I got into all this due to insuring the guitar.
So it has turned into quite the project.

I would love to see other pics of fellow Gilmour Relic owners!!! Not much out on the WWW.
Not good pictures anyway....C'mon people

Ok... the old show me yours first, then I will show you mine...

Well no pics yet. I did post a video of it from Wildwood.

Are people leery about posting pics?

On the contrary, I think people are usually quite keen to put up pics!
I don't have a Gilmour, or I'd show you mine, but I think we need to see a pic of yours anyway! :)
