Has anyone experienced the problem I describe below? Please let me know what a solution might be. Thanks.

Both of my Fender Blues Jr amps crackle intermittently when I play my Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Limited Edition Strat through them. This seems to happen more frequently when I replace the 9V battery in the EC strat; makes me think it has to do with the on-board boost in the strat. The crackling does not happen when I plug in my old "Wayne's World" Strat into teh same amps.

I took the EC strat to my local Fender authorized repair shop and they could not replicate the problem. I think they may have plugged the EC Strat into a non-tube amp. Maybe the tubes have something to do with it. I tried rubbing a dryer sheet on the EC Strat pick guard and it seemed to help for just a short while (maybe it was my imagination)

PS: the EC CS strat was a great investment

I was going to suggest a dryer sheet, then I finished reading that you had already tried it.

Has your amp been unused for a period of time? Sometimes in humid weather and when the humidity dries out around the amps wires or circuitory it would cause some cracking. In that case perhaps your amp will need servicing.

I have the same amp/guitar combo and mine does it too, it can be pretty annoying at times. Same thing happens when playing it over a Marshall tube amp.

ME, if you are reading this; can it be a shielding problem?

Could be a cable, sheilding, AC,...lots of stuff it could be.

Take your amp and set up to another (good) tech.
If it's the guitar, Custom Care.

I had a similar problem running a Clapton through a Crate Taxi. After tweaking the master volume, gain and midboost circuits I became of the opinion that this amp had its limits with respect to handling the signal coming from the guitar. One of my Strats with passive pickups did not replicate the effect. Any thoughts?
