Hi

I recently picked up a 2007 Fender HBS-1 Stratocaster Relic in Burgundy Mist. The cert dates it as 11/06/2007 which presumable means November 2007 (we do it the other way around in Europe)?

I know this was a limited edition and it is as described on the spec page here: http://www.fendercustomshop.com.au/limi ... 004800.php and came with all the case candy etc. There is no limited edition back plate but the serial number on the plate is correct as per the documentation and font is correct as is the aging in comparison to other metal parts on the guitar. I know specs can change so presumable they never actually got the ltd edition plate?

Also, I would imagine there were't too many of these made? Any idea of numbers? It would be nice to know how many were made that year and also how many in Burgundy Mist. Serial number is R40045 if thats any help.

It is an unbelievable guitar and easily the best I've owned. It would be great to know more about it.

Thanks!

Charlie

Hi there Charlie I too have recently purchased a 2007 CS strat HBS-1 in vintage white and I agree it is the best guitar I have played thus far for feel, sound, quality and tone combinations. I have owned other CS guitars and alot of regular ones and this is a dandy. I too had the same quesitons as you had. The guitar is actually a limited run, it never had the limited edition neck plate/etc. The website you indicated with the information for this model 9230004-841 was incorrect stating that it has a limited edition neck plate and 21 frets etc. where these guitars actually have 22 frets, count them in the picture if you want. Also only between 10 and 15 of each color were produced from 2007 and 2008 so not many were made of this model. If you send in your serial number to fender they may provide you some additional information for your specific guitar. I hope this helps. I would also welcome a response from Mike Eldred as he is actually in a video with a black model of this guitar and if you watch closely you will see the guitar he uses does not have the CS limited edition neckplate nor the decal but Mike does state it is a special run or something.

Well thats about all I can add for information for you Charlie. All I can say is I will hang on to mine as it is a great guitar even if it does not state limited edition on it.

Thanks for the rapid response Mike. Just to clarify, is the CS strat HBS-1, model 923-0004-841 considered a limited edition or limited something despite not having the limited edition neck plate, decal nor certificate? Thanks

Looks like it says, "Special Edition". Something they ordered and named.

Hi again Mike, what do you mean "something they ordered and named". What is the difference between special edition and limited edition? Thanks for your clarification.

The distributor may have spec'd out a special edition and bought several of them. That's a common practice. It gives them something unique for their market.

Limited Editions are spec'd out by us at the shop, and they have special certs, neck plates, case, etc.

HI, I have Black NAMM series HBS-1 serial: R45304 .
Early owner has ruined that mint pickguard. He has mounted bigger HB PU on it, so it looks ugly with original HB now. I try to find HSS pickguard with only 2 screw holes on HB, and that upper pickguard screw hole on middle between those 2 singlecoils.

That might called 62 screw hole hss, with 2 screw HB.

If someone know, where to get one - used or new one, please let me know.
If you didnt understand, I need pg like this one

thanks a lot
