Yeah the stock custom deluxes came with Urenthane finishes in 2011, but many of the big retailers will order versions of custom shop models with their own specific specs. For instance, the 2011 1960 time machine strats come stock with a 7.25 radius and vintage fretwire, but are more often then not sold with 9.5 radius and 6105 fretwire by wildwood, music zoo, daves guitars and so on. So I'm wondering if any of the big retailers ordered 2011 custom deluxes with their own specs.

Don't think that's true. All 2011 Time Machines had 9.5 and 6105.

By the way, I've always liked the picture that's included with all of your posts. What kind of guitar are you playing there?

I have no idea. That photo was taken circa 1969. It was one of many cheap guitars I had back then. The amp in the background is some unknown sold state amp.

I have a 2011 Custom Deluxe Strat, like yours, and I also get that lovely sweet smell when I open the case. But it's not the guitar, I don't think, it's the case itself. My guitar normally lives on a hanger in my music room and the smell has now faded from it, but when I open the case to pack it up to go to band rehearsals the smell is still in there.

As far as I can tell my guitar is finished in urethane, not nitrocellulose. And it has the 9.5" neck radius and 6105 fretwire, for the record.

HTH.
