I'm thinking of buying this particular 2012 Custom Deluxe soon.
I'd like some opinion about the wood figures from you guys who I believe know way more than myself. Check these out.

This has to be one of the prettiest strats to come out of the shop.
Wonder what a birdseye neck would have been like.
Hand wound Abbys as well.
Wish I could afford one right now!
The maple cap is meant to add a little bit of treble but not yet having one I cannot vouch for this.
I think I had better start saving however I am already salavating which is not the same thing..

Last year's custom deluxe models had birdseye necks. I almost bought one of those, but I was thinking if I should customize it to add Abby's pickups. Thankfully I waited. :D

the problem is I don't know quilted maple too well. would you consider the one shown above to be of the same grade, as cosmetically appealing as the one below?
