Hello. I' m fusionero78 and it's my first topic here. Thanks for reading it and Greetings for all. I have an Fender Custom Deluxe 2011 Strat in an Hss configuration (Candy apple red finish). It's a wonderful guitar but from the beginning I've been wondering if the midle pickups had the reverse polarity as the web from Fender says that "are Marterbuilt fender pickups" but does not clarify if the pickup has reversed polarity. At first I thought it has because in the combination 2 (neck and middle) cancels hum, but in 4 (bridge and middle) does not. I thought to install BPSSC Suhr system to cancel noise from the two singlecoils but it don' t work and I've tried several combinations specified in the instructions of the Suhr system. Does anyone know if the middle pickup is reverse polarity? (Reverse wound). Thank you to all!!

Cheers :)

I have the SSS version of the same Strat and the middle pickup on mine is definitely RWRP. The fact that your guitar hum-cancels in the neck/middle position seems to indicate that's the case on your guitar too.

I suspect the answer to your conundrum is that when you select the bridge/middle position, you're combining a hum-cancelled signal (the bridge humbucker) with a 'hummy' signal from the middle single-coil pickup. The resulting overall output is a signal with hum. It sort of makes sense to me, anyways...

Hello stiggie_9!!. Thanks for the answer. I think that in the 4th position it will be noise (hum) cancellation but i' m see that is not correct because of the mixed signal of the humbucker and thesinglecoil..... In order to make the Suhr BPSSC system i have 3 options:

1-Change the middle pickup for an "normal" neck pickup. (I have a Dimarzio normal singlecoil of another guitar that i think it' s a neck pickup).

2-Change the humbucker of the bridge and put an another pickguard with a single bridge single coil.

3- Change the single pickups with humcancelled singlecoils like Dimarzio area (a lot of money more....)

4-Change the wiring and make the only neck pickup work that i found in a schema by suhr (only the neck pickup will be quiet)

5-Sell the Bpssc and change the pickups for the 3 option....

I think the best and more economical option is the number 1!!!. Thanks for all

Cheers
