it look like the " holly grail "

Everytime cool tribute edition I feel like be on the titanic sinking but no lifeboat remaining ...

I'm looking forward for an budget alternative in the future . This is cool that Maria worked with you to make this possible .

You're right.
But difficult to say no when you can afford it.
Buddy Holly was my idol when I was young (long ago).
I think the FCS has done a great job historically and they deserve to have people preserving their masterwork.
I have a FCS '58 which is close (very close  ) to the last guitar owned by Buddy Holly, but this one is a different one. A '55 fitted with the exclusive hardware of the 50th Anniversary Strat®.
This is costly , there is no other way to masterbuilt it as it is.
So I'll go for it, knowing I'm one of the lucky ones.
Regarding the "budget alternative' I think that the David Gilmour Strat® was a great and very successful attempt so more people could afford it with great pleasure and enjoyment.

You may be wrong ..
At least with me.
I DO play my guitars and when I'll get it, the first thing I'll do, is trying (I'm not not a great player, but still...) to get the Buddy Holly Mojo. And, honestly, playing on such a FCS Tribute really helps; because the "missing link" is only on your playing. So you know where to improve.
The 50th Anniversary Stra® was a fantastic guitar I enjoy because it was a reminiscence of my youth, so most probably I'll enjoy that one as much, if not more.

Thanks
I'll post asap.
BTW, I wonder why most of the very best of the FCS guitars are bought outside of the USA.
They are absolutely American icons. I suggest that you'd don't let them go.
Well, it's good for overseas collectors.
Financial crisis didn't strike all American collectors..
Perhaps the way of collecting is different over the pond.
Perhaps American collectors might not see the potential of some of the FCS guitars.
No worry for us

I talked to Sweetwater about this guitar and ultimately decided against pulling the trigger. I just don't have the link to Buddy Holly that would intrigue me enough. My cut-off is around $6k, then I start getting to where I am wondering if I should just buy a vintage guitar instead. There is a '66 in my city going for 11k...

I do like that it is close to vintage correct - or one of the closest attempts they have made.

Chris Fleming got an more modern feel ( like '56 strat '57 AV reissue), But John Cruz was right on it remind me a lot of the real 1955 strat I'd played . For the other masterbuilder I hadden't tried so I can't say . Looking forward also to have special polystyrene availlable to order in CS guitar .

I would also really love if the fender CS get back to pat.pend saddles ( to make even more appeling to buy an CS ) the 1954 strat (50th anniversary) was the closest thing that one can find to the '50's maple board strat

Sorry, I didn't tough that you was correcting spelling mistake (I did edit to correct the lasts posts). Please forgive me ...

I do a lot of typing mistake ... English isn't my first language ( tout comme vous) but usualy I pay more attention than that . (I did correct myself before posting so just imagine )

I don't own an CS guitar (one day I will) and I also don't know each name of the masterbuilder it was the first time that I write those name .
