Gotta tell ya, 2 things come to mind

Sometimes Guitars are shipped tuned down half a step, or just looser
The dealer may also have used stiffer, larger gauge strings

A stiffer/larger guage string will put more tension on, and add some bow to the neck

Could try putting the strings the CS uses, think its D'darrio
and trying tuning down half a step, Jimi/Stevie style

see if returns the Mojo

I've since resolved most issues. And my setup issue WAS with the dealer, not the CS. The pickguard issue was solved. It's just frustrating to have a defect out of the box with the CS's reputation for quality. But that's a risk when you buy a guitar that you can't see or play first. Just one more issue to resolve with the saddle height screws and I'm set. This is still the finest guitar I've ever owned; there's no buyer's remorse, and I'm sorry if it came off that way. I'm a bit jealous of those whose guitars were dead perfect out of the case, though.

glad to hear things are working out..
