I own a '92 Jazz Plus 5 string that I believe is a fantastic bass to play and has a great sound. Everyone who has heard or played the bass agrees.
So I began wondering why I even considered spending the money on a CS bass and I had second thoughts after ordering the bass. I recieved it a little over a week ago and let me put it this way, I can never go back now.
This bass is beautiful, but it isn't just eye candy! It is the easiest and best sounding bass I have ever had the privilage to hear or play. The set up was perfect out of the box. It took me a little while to dial in the sound I want, but that was because I took my time exploring the many sounds I can get out of this bass.
There's no doubt in my mind that these CS guitars are in a league of their own.

Here's some pics, some of which I have posted in the Jazz Bass section of this forum so please forgive me for re-posting.
OK, I'll admit it. Maybe I'm just showin' off a little!

The neck is usually the first thing people notice, then the violin burst finish. One of the guitar players in the band really likes the black pearl inlays.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
Also for tolerating my self indulgence. I have no shame!

Your new bass features Basslines Quarterpounders.

Did you also plan replacing the Lace Sensors with a Quarterpounder set in your '92 J-Bass Plus?

I hadn't really thought about it. I'm sure the Basslines would be an improvement, but I've always been satisfied with the '92's sound.
I really don't have the need to now that I have this new CS.

Your new axe has almost endless tonal possibilities - however it lacks off an active/passive switch and a passive tone control for a more vintage J-Bass growl, which are useful if your batteries die during a gig.

Thanks for the info. I did notice I can get a pretty good growl. :D
