Hi guys,

Please, to what degree is this guitar (http://www.ebay.com/itm/58-Custom-Shop- ... 500wt_1413) similar to the recent Eric Clapton CS LTD Daphne Blue Strat?

I have been looking for one of these EC's ever since the last Crossroads DVD but it seems that they truly are limited, and also cost a concrete 5000$, so I'll try an alternative with this reissue, but I don't want to step too far away from the EC model in terms of specs.

The seller seems to be unaware or hasn't specified detailed info. I would like to know what is the body wood difference between the two guitars, pickups (they both seem to be Noiseless) or anything else - but what interests me the most is neck shape/profile. I can only play thinner Strat necks, an example would be modern V-necks. What kind of neck does the EC have? An example of a neck I wouldn't ever want is the '52 RI Telecaster I own. I can't play that fat neck. So, if this is also a reissue, does it mean it's fat neck'ed?

Also, the guy says the guitar didn't come with a COA. Is this possible for a CS, or are reissue CS just low grade CS's?

Overall, how does it stand against the EC model and is it worth 2,400$? Or more?

Thank you very much in advance.

Those 58s that I played back then are bigger/fatter

You won't be happy if you want a Clapton, I'd wait
Those do come up for about the same price quite a bit

The Clapton neck is the smallest CS maple Strat neck right now
Anything else is going to be meatier

Thanks for the information. I was seriously considering this buy but I'll trust your reply and back off. It's absolutely awful when you order a beautiful quality guitar that you aren't comfortable playing on because of the neck, like the Tele I mentioned (although it sounds sweet through my Egnater).

Just a follow up, do you know how many of those EC's were made and what are the chances of acquiring one at say $3000 tops?

I've been checking eBay quite frequently for the past 2 months and only one EC LTD CS Daphne Blue has been listed, for a rude $6,500 if I remember correctly. The second one I found was at the forum "Strat-talk", where a guy was advertising it in his signature, offering for 4000$, but I didn't buy (don't know if it is still up for grabs).

Seems to me they're hard to find for a reasonable CSF price. The only ones that are regularly listed on eBay are the ugly relics that also go for $6,500,000,000 for some mystical reason.

Thank you..
