Hi everyone,
found this strat & im really thinking about purchasing it. can anyone tell me exactly what this guitar is? It had the custom shop logo on the back & everything.
it was just tagged as '' NOS custom shop Strat'' no year or anything.

Haven't got a pic of the back of the headstock sorry,
I've never seen a custom shop Strat with a R7 serial number, and the 000 after seems a little crazy.
Great playing & sounding guitar though!

At face value it looks like a 60s to me as well. Nick looking neck. Generally all custom shop guitars are originally sold with a certificate of authenticity stating the date of manufacture and usually the model. The 60s came with a G&G tweed case.
Without the cert you need to know what to look for and this often involves partial disassembly e.g. cloth wound pickups on the 60s model with bevelled pickup magnets, relic stamp on the body under the pickguard genuine fender custom shop logo on the peghead etc.
If a genuine custom shop having no cert will affect its value particularly if you ever consider selling it. :D

The tracking on the serial number shows a 60's Strat NOS Fiesta Red completed 7/11/2000 and shipped to europe soon after. Fender Part # 0150700840.
Hope that helps,
regards,
rob
