Only 275 made of these instruments. Are they a good buy? Who can tell me what they think of them?

Does anyone here own one? Your thoughts will be very much appreciated.

An inestment or not?

Thank you

Maybe it's a bit too late for a "good buy". But even at the original price they were not a "good buy", better a goodbye to your savings

Nevertheless they are absolutely stunning guitars both visually and sonically.

The CS reproduced an exact (as far as humanely possible) clone of the original one.
When you have a look under the pickguard you're breathless !
And when you plug it in an amp it delivers what you expect without any lukewarm moderation.

Regarding the investment side, future will tell but I put it in the same group as the SRV # 1, nothing to compare with that silly Brownie/Lenny. When you pull too much on a string....

If memory serves me Alain, the SRV was priced at 12K and it was not too far behind the Clapton in its issuance. The company must have figured it took a bath on pricing the SRV and decided not to let that happen again. Hence the 25K price on the Clapton and the EVH. I expect that there's a Malmstein and a Gilmore in the pipeline and that both will be offered at the same price or higher.

I have always admired your collection from the point of view of instrument art. I would be surprised of such like these ever find their way to the stage in the hands of a regular gigging musician unless the player intended to 'wear it' between sets. In some respects, it's sad, particularly from your description of the 'voice' of the Blackie.

My business contact at Guitar Center has handled both the original and the copy. You have pretty much given the nod to what he had to say about it.

Thanks for sharing.
