I'm sure this guitar can also be ordered as a 22-fretter with Dunlop 6105 jumbos.

From my experience the CS had built 22-fret versions of these oldies (such as this Fiesta Red 56 Strat NOS LTD), which I believe were custom one-offs specially commissioned by a showcase dealer such as Guitar Mania, Musician's Friend, ZZounds, Sweetwater, The Music Zoo and Guitar Center.

How's the GAS for a sunburst, Bernd?

Oh man, you're killing me! Awesome! Honestly a fantastic looking guitar. Super-vibrant 3-Tone sunburst. Fantastic straight-grained neck - in one pic it looks like there's a bit of flame on it? Anyway, MASSIVE GAS attack! :)

Oh sure, if you go the custom order route you can pretty much have anything! 8)

Many thanks! :D

There seems to be quite a lot going on within the grain of the quarter-sawn maple neck, i must say. At certain angles it displays the slightest hint of what you could call flame, but its very subtle!

Sorry about the GAS attack

Feel free to note that Doyle's guitars are strung in the reversed way a la Albert King. He even played a Flying V during the 2009 Japanese tour (Little Queen of Spades).

I bet your guitar is also strung in that fashion (not sure if you're a huge fan of the artist himself and you've the same guitar! :) ).

No, mine aren't. I bought myself up on left handed guitars playing the traditional way.

I know Doyle plays his left handed guitars reverse strung. I've seen him live of course but he also features heavily on the Crossroads Festival DVDs. He grew up playing right handed guitars up side down. He'd just pick up his dad's guitars and play them as a kid, i believe.

I wouldnt call myself a huge fan, but I think he's a great player.

I just tried to look up some info on his sunburst strat.

All I know is that it's an original 1964 left handed strat. 8)

Your guitar is very similar to Doyle's '64, though Eric played a righty sunburst rosewood neck '63 Strat during a gig with Chuck Berry and Keith Richards circa 1986/87.

From my understanding you got a strong inspiration from that jamming session to purchase the '63 NOS Ltd.

On his personal website Doyle is seen cradling a black right-handed upside down Strat with a hot humbucker in the bridge position. I desperately looked for a video showing him playing the black HSS Strat on YouTube but alas, found nothing.

Apparently Doyle never brought this guitar onstage.

Given that the black guitar in question is right handed, strung right handed, perhaps it doesnt belong to Doyle :?:

Maybe it belongs to the other guy in the photo who let Doyle play it.
