The re-fin and any replaced/renewed parts will have a negative impact on the value, if ever put up for sale, but it's a cool old guitar! :)

Thanks for sharing. Any more pics or news on this one? Does the original case still exist?
A question for the collectors out there; what prices do Broadcaster make when they come for sale? I appreciate condition and originality make a huge difference, but a ballpark figure?
thanks
anthony

Looks like maybe a re-fret as well? Regardless, it is a awesome piece of history!

Those are Kluson "single line" tuners. If I'm not mistaken they should be "no line" for that year. Still...

I think you're right about the tuners being replacements...but checking through my various "bibles" it would appear that '50s tuners "did" have "Kluson Deluxe" stamped in a single line on top, "pat appld" on the side, and then they changed to "no-line" during '51.
However, the '50s tuners were "closed shell" where the shaft didn't protrude through the bottom of the shell. And the tuners fitted here are "open shell" where the shaft protrudes.
During the change to "no-line" through '51 they still remained "closed shell" and only in '52 went to "open shell" where the shaft protrudes.

Then in '57 they got stamped with "Kluson Deluxe" once again! So I'd guess the tuners here are post '57.

God, I need to get a life!! :(
