I've never even owned a MIA Strat prior to this. And it was a long ride to get it (7 or so months from the initial order). Anyway, onto the good stuff.
Ok, I've had it for a day now and OMFG...
The pickups are killer. First thing I did was plug it into the Blues Jr, and I was blown away by the tone, playability, feel of the neck, weight and sustain (especially when strumming or playing unplugged). Then through the PODxt, and it's amazing the range of tones this guitar can handle. Everything from shimmery Buddy Holly tones to raunchy, raw tones in Foxy Lady. The neck is the best I've ever played, ever.

Oh yea....The guy who dropped it off at my cube deemed it as "The Ugliest Guitar In The World" I'm 180 degrees from that. It's gorgeous. The neck has a stunning flame. I wish I could describe it better. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Thanks for checking it out. :D :D
There is one very minor flaw, and it's nothing to due with the building of the guitar. The bottom strap button was machined wrong and does NOT lock. I had a pair of Schaller's laying around and swapped it out. Now it stays locked it. Not sure what I am going to do about getting a locking strap button replaced, but I'll worry about that on Monday. This weekend, it's graffiti time.
Oh yea, and Mike E signed off on the COA

I love the color. It's reminescent of a VERY old Fender that's 'turned'. Beautiful axe!

Oh, HELL yeah. 8)

^ sunglasses were a necessary addition ^

That looks awesome. Spec list looks perfect too- LSR, Sperzels, sweet maple neck. Is it a hybrid of a Pro and a Custom Classic? Graffiti Yellow, right..?

Custom Shop Custom Classic. A series of events led me to getting this guitar, basically the store sold a guitar being held for me, they offered me a good deal on a guitar with the same spec's (I guess the Custom Classic is a 'retired' model) so it required a special order. Yup, Graffiti Yellow.

I originally had the Fender Noiseless, but opted for the Modern Classic/Hot Classic pups. No regrets at all on that choice. I was nervous about the noiseless lacking in the 'true' Strat tone.

And I cannot get over the neck, it's unbelievable. It has a poly coat on the fretboard, but the back is satin, and it plays like an ebony board. It just feels so good.

Good decision. I went the other way round and replaced the Hot Noiseless soon after I got the guitar.

Cheers

David

One question I have, maybe Mike can answer it, or others who are familiar with the 2 point trem. The sustain block seems to have much less mass than a 'normal trem block. I can honestly say I expected a higher mass block, but maybe that's not how they come.
I upgrade trem blocks on other guitars, but those are import guitars with zinc POS trem blocks.

SO... If I choose to bump up the mass for this block, can anyone point me in the right direction? I was thinking a nice fat brass sustain block. Love the tones that come from those brass blocks.

If it's the Custom Deluxe bridge, it has a milled 1018 CRS block and milled stainless saddles. Same bridge as Jeff Beck uses. Don't understand why you would want to swap that out, but it's your guitar.

Thank you. I had no idea of the materials used in the block. No need to swap it at all. Like I said I had some with zinc blocks and when I put a brass block in (higher mass as well), there was a very noticeable increase in sustain and tone.
This guitar is about as perfect as I could hope for. Still a bit of a newb in some/most areas regarding guitar parts.
I truly appreciate the help and information Mike. Thank you!
