Hi to all..

Just bought a 2011 CS Deluxe Tele' in Violin Burst, and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival here in Australia from the US.

My question's are,1.Are all CS models built by the "master builders" mentioned or just the "special" models? 2. How much of the process is done by hand as opposed to the main manufacturing factory? 3. Is it possible to tell who built a particular guitar? (It may well say on the certificate, but have not seen one up close yet so not sure).

Thanks Guy's,

Geoff, Perth, Australia.

Greetings Geoff,

I am afraid I can only answer your third question. I have never played a Master build (let alone taken one apart), however, I think a Master build will have the master's signature under or across the CS logo at the back of the headstock (a bit like, say, the Clapton signature).

Enjoy the guitar!

I own three Masterbuilt Strats. The certificate is signed by the MB and not, as usual for CS production or team builts, by the CS manager. The neck has a decal with the MB signature and the body has the intials of the MB embossed into the neck PU cavity.
Hope that helps.

Hi Geoff.
I suspect the master builders are permanently busy with the master built orders.
Like my guitar, I would think yours is teambuilt and we will not know the names of such luthiers.

The question of how much of the process is done by hand I hope someone will answer, as I find it fascinating to learn about the differences between The CS and the Fender factory.

I'm sure Mike will correct me, but it is my understanding that while Team Builts are built by "the team", MasterBuilders will assist in the build of guitars at time. Who helped make what? I don't know... is one persons job to shape necks and anothers to shape bodies? would be neat to find out!
