What a beautiful gesture from The Fender Custom Shop:
http://fendercustomshop.com/
Those are great guitars and deserved to be kept by those who were there.
And to be played before by EC..
I hope they will never be sold and belong forever to The New York Fire Department, The New York Police Department and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Hats off to those involved.

Impressive, to say the least. More often than not, great art speaks tomes that mere words cannot express.

My suggestion FMIC is to see these installed in the museum at Ground Zero for posterity.

I agree alainlafrance. They are works of art and meant to be shared with the world. But imagine what could be done if the were auctioned off with proceeds going to help the families of the fallen heroes. A true one-off played by EC would bring in a handsome price I would think. Regardless, hats off to Fender for going the extra mile to help recognize true heroes.

A different finish means also a different hairstyle and appeal.

I think Eric will look like this:

The only difference would be the hair colour. :)

The shot I took dates from 2001/02.

I think old slowhand has now an appeal not dissimilar to the haircut he got during the Skanderborg concert in 10/08/2008:

Seems to me he's been drifting from this to Journeyman and back for quite some time now. Maybe the missus has had something to say about a preference for the 'GQ' look.
Seems than long hair has gone from the pop music culture these days.

What's the so-called "GQ" look?

The short haircut a la early Yardbirds days he usually gets frequently since late 1992, perhaps?

Or you mean this one?

As for the Journeyman look, EC grown his hair to his trademark style of the aforementioned era in late 2009/early 2010. It appears that the first half of 2011 is regarded as another "transitional" period for his hairstyle. I think he decided to bring back the early Yardbirds appeal for the rest of this year as he did in mid-2005 and during the second half of his 2008 summer tour.

Well, did you find some similarities between these two photos?

This would be "GQ"....for "Gentleman's Quarterly"....compatible with those Versace threads he covets.

I removed the mirror in my bathroom and replaced it by a portrait of myself 20 years ago.
you can't imagine how great I feel now in the morning
