Hey guys,

I recently brought a Fender Custom Shop 59' NOS from a guitar store in Beijing, its a absolute killer guitar. However, after I brought it home, I saw that the Fender logo was a sticker, being a somewhat of a Fender newbie, could this be a fake guitar?

To further illustrate my point:

If you were to look closely, you could see the shape of the sticker..

So is this a fake?

Thanks

looks like a decal to me. I don't see any cause for alarm from that.

Moki, show us more pictures! I wonder about your certificate that came with the guitar. Gather more clues for us! Fender fakes exist, but faking a custom shop instrument would be hard indeed. You seem to know a bit about guitars. Is it practlically noise-less? It should be. What about the logo on the back of the headstock?

That's the way Fender did it for years before they started putting a finish over top. My Eric Clapton Strat is the same way.

No need to be concerned over the decal alone. My CS '56 is the same way. It's how they were done then. Be careful when restringing. I already lost a small part of my decal accidentally.
