Hi Guys!

I bought a Fender Tele some years ago and I was told that it is a Art Esparza Master built guitar.

I was just wondering if you can see, somewhere, on the guitar that it is a Master built one.

I don´t know how to post pictures.

Kind Regards
Topper, Denmark

hi Topper, welcome to the Fender board

Read this How to post pics - Nutter's quick start guide.

Without pictures it won't be possible to tell much.

Cheers

David

I've seen this logo before from the '80s CS guitars.

I believe around that time all the CS guitars could be considered "master built." The shop then was smaller and they produced less. They didn't have distinctions of team built or master built. I don't know if there is a way to determine if Art built it or not but that one was from the days when John Page was running the shop.
Nice looking guitar.

So.... Finally I got my answers. Yesterday, I took the guitar to a known danish guitar technician. He disassembled the guitar and on the backside of the neck (where the body is assembled with the neck) is Arts signature stamp in red :D

I then took it one step further. I found Art on Facebook. Mailed him the photos of the guitar and the dude recognized it!

His exact answer: "Dude!,... I made that!!"

Masterbuild or not..... Art Ezparza built that guitar! That´s enoigh for me :)

Thanx to all for your replies.

How did we let you get away with this schoolboy error Alain :) Of course there were!!
Art didn't have MB status then but a number of others did like Mike Stevens & J W Black.

I meant there were no MB as defined now vis a vis of the TB.
In a way, as James said, they were all MB, more or less.
Mike and J.W. were the only two MB as of 1989.
But anyway the quality was there whoever made the guitar.

The guitar in question here was one of a number of Tele's (possibly 100) built at this time and designated "52 Tele" on the COA. They weren't vintage correct as such specwise, all that came later. I had one identical years ago...great guitar. Art did alot of the Tele's around this era like the 40th Anniversary. Keep it...they are becoming very scarce on the market.

Got more pictures for you guys to look at. Maybe those will help to identify fully.

The date at the bottom of the neck reads: Nov 18 1990. It´s a bit blurry on the picture.
