My limited Edition tele came with a case where is written "limited release" on the protective velvet.
Is this normal?
I know there is a difference between these two labels but I don't know if this distinction is also reflected inside the cases.
I know I'm splitting hairs here and honestly, I don't care about this kind of details myself as long as the guitar is alright and its case does its job but I'm thinking about the fact that I could sell this guitar one day (unlikely but who knows?). This is the kind of detail a possible buyer could be suspicious about.

Thank you.

I'm sorry to bother you with this but I don't know what to think about it.
I went to the specifications page of my guitar on the custom shop website and I read that the guitar is supposed to be delivered with a "Limited Edition" case.
Kinda strange.
Mine is mainly white with black leather on the sides and is clearly labelled as "Limited Release".

Plus, when I see the pictures from the website, I can see another case behind the guitar which has nothing to do with the one I received (maybe it's just a random case used for the picture but I can't tell).

Not to mention that I have to apply some relatively strong pressure on the guitar for it to fit into the case (the last string is always detuned when I do so as the last key touches the case and spins when I apply the pressure). I thought it was because the case was still new but a wrong case could explain why it doesn't fit.
All this makes me wonder...

Is it a mistake or do the LE and LR guitars come with the same label?

If it's hard to tell from a user point of view, can you tell me who I have to ask this question to in order to be sure?

Thanks.

I recently purchased a 2011 LE '63 Tele like yours (I believe only 30 were made) and mine was delivered in a white tolex case with a plush red / burgundy interior. Stitched on the interior upper part of the case is "Custom Shop Limited Edition". I absolutely love this guitar even though my wife says it's the ugliest one she's ever seen!

I sent an email to Fender regarding this issue and they said they will send me another case which is fine with me.
A good point for Fender here and I'm grateful for that.

About the guitar: yes, it's a real piece of trash, I so understand your wife!
But hey, that's what makes it so hot (the guitar I mean).
However, even if I still feel that the Custom Shop is a top notch department, I can't say I'm completely thrilled with my purchase:

Went to a luthier yesterday in order to get rid of the massive fret buzz I got on every string from day one.
Not there yet as it still buzzes since (less but still) and I'm supposed to torture the guitar for a week before the luthier makes his final adjustments. I hope it'll be ok then because, for now, it's quite a disappointment ( recording or playing on stage is simply not an option). My playing style being quite soft, I don't think it's me.
So I'm not that convinced by the instrument balance, to be honest. Not what I expected from a CS anyway. I know this could be due to the travel but this doesn't completely explain some quirks the luthier had to rectify.

But please, don't get me wrong, I really don't mean to make some bad advertisement about the Fender's CS at all. The look, feel and sound is truly amazing. I'm just saying that, based on my experience and when it comes to the setup, "perfection", pure and simple, is not the word I would use to qualify the Team-build service.

But I guess I just wasn't lucky on this one...

One question here: was this with the original strings? Which gauge are/were they?

Yes, this is quite normal ... wouldn't call it a "problem". A good case is snug.

Cheers

David
