Thought I'd share some pics I took.

Thanks to Mike, Dennis, Joe, Kevin from Fender (Did I get everyone?) and Frank + Co at Music Gallery for hosting!

(I thought I was going to go home with the guitar Dennis built. 'Twas a nice one!! We'll see what my next one will be!)

I asked the same question. I thought it was violin burst too. It is a 60s in trans brown. Pine body. Closet classic / very light relic.

If you have a Showcase Dealer near you who is not participating it's time to start launching a campaign. It seems that the dealer's elect to participate or not.

{Of course, if they all decide to get on board, 4 weeks paid vacation for Mike and company, in Bora Bora, will likely be something the Forum members will have to get together on. :idea:}

I was at this roadshow and can say that I was blown away! I am in the process of ordering my first MB guitar and do not know who to pick as my builder ( going for a 68 or 69 strat )

There are so many options and so few dollars :lol:

How does the pine body effect tone and stability?

Pine is a pretty soft wood.

I don't think stability was talked about, but I'd imagine it's fine.

Tonally - maybe Mike can chime in. I remember it sounding nice and round and warm though.

I'd be interested in knowing, too. If so, times have change. The day I received the issue of Guitar Player carry the photo of that Crash guitar over its bannerheady,[which was said to be going on tour and later to be 'auctioned' ]I called the Custom Shop to inquire as to how I could acquire one and was told, to my dismay, that I couldn't. Your lucky day, if that has changed. :wink:
P.S. Don't be surprised if Alain posts a picture of one. He's our main man in the boutique department. 8)
