I placed an order for my first CS Strat in mid March, Mike Eldred said it would be about 7 - 8 months.
Is there any way to find out if it is actually being worked on without being a PITA? I should be getting it either Sept or Oct, and the days are clipping by pretty quickly, it'd just be cool to know 'yup, it's being worked on, and it's getting "blah" done currently'. Or just 'yup'

It's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOONG summer.

Try calling Fender's Custom Service. Their contact info is within this site. Besides, you're paying for it. It's not like you're getting it for nothing and you do indeed have a right to know.

Martian knows his stuff. I would also add that I would have the dealer who handled the order doing the leg work. It took the better part of 2010 for the factory to do the vintage runs for that year and my factory '57VHR order, initially placed in April, didn't arrive until December. Through out that, The Music Zoo was able to keep tabs on the situation, and I just had to sit tight. Some years ago, a Custom Shop order of mine took nearly a year, and had to go back for a different neck, costing another 6 months. If you're doing business through a Showcase Dealer, you should be on the right track. It's only been twelve weeks since your order. Kick back, pour a tall cool one, and {as the famous loves to say]...."Unlax".

Thanks. I'll give them a shout on Monday. Much appreciated. I know several folks here are lucky enough to own several CS Fenders; this will probably be my only one, so I hope you can empathize with my anxiety and anxiousness to not just get it, but find out where it is in the production line.
Gracias!

Once you placed an order: forget it; really forget it.
And then one day , you'll be called by your Dealer "Hello, she's there".
The painless approach.
I know. Believe me.

Moi aussi!...That's just about the way it goes down. Tempest fugit. Just ask Alain and I. looking back over our shoulders at our 'yutes'. Don't be so in a hurry. It'll be there soon enough.

I know, I know. It seems pretty pathetic to be this impatient, but I've waited a very long time to be able to afford one, and now with the finish line coming up...
