I suspect the previous owner swapped the neck humbucker for a regular Tele lipstick pickup and replaced the original cream hum-routed pickguard with a white pearloid. Apparently he was not satisfied with the humbucker and decided to replace it with a regular SS pickup configuration.

Your guitar is a modified AC signature model.

Surely not.

An AC signature Tele always comes with a humbucker in the neck and a cream-coloured pickguard as specified by the artist himself, hence the Iceman's signature on the headstock.

The original 1966 Custom Telecaster in its initial form came with two single-coils and a cream pickguard. Albert later replaced the front neck pickup with a chrome-covered Gibson humbucker, which helped to reproduce the distinctive fat, creamy blues tones which made the "Iceman" famous.

This is a 1990s model as the CN digits suggest. Any Custom Shop guitar or bass made between 2000 and 2009 used the CZ digits. Fender uses new serial numbers since 2010.

Why not asking John C?
