What's the difference between the regular production Robert Cray Strat and the Custom Shop version?

I believe the CS versions have flamed necks. I doubt that's the only difference, but I couldn't tell you what any others would be. I'm also sure the build quality is flawless on the CS version.

MIM vs. MIA for one. As Mike Eldred would put it....the production guitar is a 'snapshot' of the original, whereas the CS version is more than likely dead on, not to mention the quality of woods, the care in the build, the hardware, the pickups will be different, as well as the finish.

Didn't know the regular production RC model was MIM. The regular RC is also listed as having "Custom shop pickups" while the CS version is listed as having "custom wound pickups". Not sure what to take from that.

The CS has gold plated hardware and a figured neck. I wonder why the silver and violet versions are $760 more than the sunburst? You can also get a heavy relic done on it for $900. I'll gladly beat the crap out of a guitar for $300. :)

I suppose the < $1100 MSRP should have given away that it was an MIM, I didn't realize that though.
