In a perfect world i would, but it's all about saving money when you're a student.
Plus i like the idea of home made guitars, it's just more personal.

Start totaling up the parts and labor costs on this brainstorm of yours to see whether economies of scale are really working for you.

I've always wanted to do the opposite, transfer the Strat scale to a Jag body/circuit.

-remember that the nodes being different between the two scale lengths requires a repositioning of the bridge and pickups. That's a major project.

Old topic, but was wondering if this was possible. Yes, as some answered, but not that simple, in fact, as much simple as I thought. Maybe because a 24,75" scale neck can fit and replace a 25,5" one without any flaw (except for a little adjustment to the bridge). But a 24" scale neck needs some real modifications (thank for the info, btw).

This question now comes: why Fender don't offer a 24,75" Strat? Maybe a 24" Strat? But a Strat with a Strat look, not some new pickup configurations, just a Strat with at least a 24,75" scale neck and the standard pickup configuration (three single coil pickups; 5 positions switch; vibrato or no vibrato). I'll jump to the nearest reseller the next day if this kind of Strat would be put on the market.

I found some kind of a Strat HH guitar with a 24,75" scale neck, with some kind of a smaller body (7/8 like body) than a standard Strat, and since then, I just can't figure out why Fender don't have that kind of guitar in their so huge guitars catalog.

If there was a huge demand for short scale Strats, they'd be on the menu all the time.
Fender has tested this; there's the current Squier SS pack, there used to be a Modern Player version, and Fender Japan has made short scale Strats, just to mention a few.

And this is the Custom Shop section, so there's a hint where one can get the dream guitar...
