$6K US....half retail.

You mean they retailed for $12k in the US?

To the best of my knowledge...around that number...perhaps 10.5.

Official retail? Forget it ... these official retail prices are a joke.

Cheers

retail price = what they were generally sold for.... not to be confused with the MSRP...

I gather Doc meant the retail price....

I did....but you know....with demand the way it was, who knows where 'street' and MSRP ended up vendor by vendor.

OK, correct. But it's quite difficult to know the "retail price". Depends on your ability to bargain, and on the shop's general situation. This can mean that a MSRP of 5000 USD drops to 2500 retail price. I'm not kidding. And it happens with very "limited" guitars.

Cheers

Such was the situation with the LTD Clapton runs. There were online websites posting them at $3500 and I know for a fact that buyers were getting them at $1000 less.

Good for people who know how to bargain.

You can also go and look for guitars which were in "Road Shows" some years ago. I found guitars from 2009. It's not hard to guess that these are the guitars you can get for a decent price.

Cheers

Wow!! The old memory still serves. I thought I remembered that figure from the 'red hot' thread late last year. Thanks for the backup.

And Alain deals, on occasion, with an excellent CS dealer in the UK! Someone that I too have dealt with a few times, and received great service! :)
