I just put my order in for one of these new 08's in vintage white. I am a little dissapointed that I am going to have to wait 4 to 5 months to get this guitar, because I have been advised that Fender is back ordered on them. Has anyone else ordered one of these guitars and are going to have to wait like I am on it?

Three years ago I ordered an instrument from them. It took a year to deliver it and they got the neck wrong. It went back. 6 mos later the guitar was delivered as designed.

Enjoy your life and the promise of your dream instrument. All things being equal, it will come to pass.

That outfit has so much going on with it, considering all these Tribute guitars that are coming down the pike, on top of special orders, I doubt they can handle 'the mail.'

By the way....where is this guitar offered? I searched it by name in the Products Section and it could not be found.

This guitar is a limited edition for 2008 from the custom shop. It is listed on the custom shop web page under new products for 2008. I saw it at winter Namm and fell in love with it. I have one of the limited edition 2007 custom shop 69 Strats in vintage white with the maple neck. I thought this 68 limited edition would be a perfect mate to it.

I am still waiting! I don't really care if it takes a few extra months for it to arrive. I ordered it from www.makenmusic.om
Great store to do business with and my sales guy is Teddy. :D

The only one in that listing is a relic w/matching headstock. Is the listing not up to date??

The guitar is listed on the custom shop web page. I just checked the page myself a moment ago. Go to the custom shop page link, which the link is under products on the Fender front web page. Click onto products, then click onto the custom shop link, then click the link for new 2008. The guitar is shown on the top left side of the page with the rosewood neck. This guitar does not come with a matching headstock, which I am thankful for that.
I hope this will help you out. If you have any problems, I would contact Fender. 8)

I'm considering ordering a sunburst one. I'm not too concerned about the wait time....I've had a DGT PRS on order since July 2007.

Well I cancelled my order on this guitar. I gave it enough time for the order to be completed and it had been about 5 months. So I found a beautiful original 1974 Hardtail Strat with maple neck and in sunburst with OHSC for the price of a custom shop guitar. So I am going to start buying Strats from that decade. I would rather spend that kind of money on an original, than a wantabe guitar. I have quite a few custom shop guitars from Fender and I would not part with any of them, but I am not waiting for months for a guitar that is teambuilt. So sorry Fender about that, but I did buy another Fender, it just happed to be 34 years old and it rocks! Fender has always made great quality guitars and I will continue to buy Strats! :D
