Has anyone ever sent in their CS to the custom shop for a warranty issue due to a finish issue? I am just curious as to the turnaround time from other folks. Is the custom care service fast? or does it take months???

Like you, I don't know what the turnaround time would be exactly, as there are many factors involved, except that it would not be very quick with paint and lacquer involved. All the various stages, including the very important drying time, would mean a bit of a wait, I'm afraid!

OK....so, here is the update. It was a new Nocaster not reliced or time machine....there was a good size bubble in the finish, that you could press down and it would move. I sent it to the custom shop for review. I was told it was being prepped for refinish. That kind of floored me...would not think they would go through all the trouble to refinish when they could probably swap out the body. so, I asked how long, and was told around 60 days. Do you all think that is feasible??? I am just itching to get my new Nocaster back!!!! Also, do you think it will still be a thin finish, or do you think it will be a new finish ontop of the old???

finishing/refinishing a guitar properly can easily take 6 to 8 weeks, especially in a busy factory.

60 days seems kinda quick actually, when I refinished a guitar in a nitro TV Yellow, it was 30 days for the clear coat to cure, just sitting there hanging and they said the longer you let it cure, the better, and I only had 1 guitar to work on at the time.
Sorry about the wait man, but 60 days doesn't seem long at all considering it's a finish issue. 60 days to replace a nut/tuners/pickups, that's kinda long.
I am VERY new to the Custom Shop here, and I just learned it's going to take 7 1/2 months to get my custom order. That seems like a crazy long time, but who knows what orders they have in front of me, and how long it actually takes the guitar to be made.

Zonkers, that is one BEAUTIFUL yellow Strat you have there! I just have to keep coming back to your posts to stare at it. CS? What features do you have in there?
