I am currently attempting to build an eric clapton "blackie" tribute relic. The problem is I can't seem to figure out how to replicate the fretboard wear that appears on the original.
Does anyone know what process/tools fender uses to create artificial fretboard wear?

Really? Bad juju to inquire about certain techniques that the FCS uses, in this case relicing, on their forums. I realize the question wasn't asked to FCS directly, but still not a good practice to ask about that kind of stuff here. You got to believe that info like this is a trade secret, right?

I understand why you might think it would be bad idea to ask this question but the Fender built "blackie" is far out of my price range. I was just hoping someone would be able to help me build one. The forum Says "let's talk custom shop" so I assumed this would be the place to go...

Yep, like JVR mentioned above or you can check here: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51602. Wow, seems I was wrong, sorry about that!
