OK. Took some pics and sent them to Jeremy at Fender, who's helping identify what I have. I'm trying to figure out how to share pictures here. I may have to wait until I go home and upload them to a hosting site so I can get a URL to share. My work blocks access to all the photo sharing sites.

Would not be surprised if it's a pretty good parts-caster. If so, I'd like some feedback on a fair price for it.

I'll post a follow-up after I hear from Jeremy.

Sounds like the pawnshop got fooled when they took it in and now they are trying to find someone to take the loss for them. Maybe there was a new guy at the counter who paid out way too much for it?
I figure an American Standard with upgraded parts is worth more than a regular American Standard. Downgraded with cheaper parts would make it worth less. Some say run away from any Partscaster like its a bad thing. Hopefully the pawn shop has a decent amp to try it through - if you like the way it plays and sounds then offer a fair price. A reasonable price for an American Standard and not what they were trying to pass it off as. I saw a pawnshop trying to pass off a Fender as a Custom Shop and it didn't even have a logo. Pointed it out to them and about a month later went back. It was still there but had a new price tag without a CS claim. Much cheaper too.
Depending on how much they are into it for, it could be awhile before they give up and take a loss on it by accepting a reasonable price. After all, a sucker is born every minute. They may be willing to wait for him for awhile. If they can't find him they will lower the price.
