I would say that without knowing the quality of parts that the guitar was made from I wouldn,t pay much for it. You should figure what its worth to you. Parts guitars can be very good guitars. I have put one together that I love and Claptons Blackie is a parts guitar. So Im no help at all. Lets see some pics.

Go to a site like photobucket then upload the photos. Then you'll see a forum link that starts and ends with [IMG]. Cut and paste that onto the post and you'll have it.

OK...here are pics of the guitar with the bogus CS sticker. The picture makes it easier to tell this was not a very good CS sticker. The lighting in the pawn shop makes it a lot harder to tell. Go figure! The serial number is not in the Fender database. Still looks like a decent parts-caster and would like some feedback on how much to offer. They were originally asking $1,899. Ha!

The Fender headstock logo looks like it was applied at the factory. The neck has a nice C shape to it, with truss adjustment at the heel. The neck and body pocket were stamped and marked with dates but didn't see any markings signifying Fender. Don't know if that's normal or not. Thanks for your feedback.

Hard to put a figure on it. Is the body MIA or MIM etc. From my own observations it has 21 frets, noiseless pickups and what looks like a decent bridge. The pickguard has the offset screw between the mid and neck. This was changed around 63 to be closer to the mid pu.

It is possibly a 62 US Vintage reissue with a different pickups. Nice colour ... Ocean Turquoise?

Maybe more pics of under the pickguard would help establish the origins of the body since router holes are different.
Most of the higher end USA strat bodies since the nineties have the two point tremelo. Bottom line if you really like it and just a guess $500 if complete partsocaster a little more if mainly 62 US reissue and less if mainly mexi.
Hope someone else can come up with more suggestions. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think they'll let me get under the hood. The manager was miffed when I took off the neck to look for markings when I was in there the first time.

$500 is what I'm thinking too. Don't know if the pawn shop will accept that. They have a $1,899 asking price, but the manager told me he would take $1,500, Ha!

I personally wouldn't pay $500 for that guitar, has bad karma with what appears to be a aftermarket CS logo added on headstock- a fake- bad juju. If on a budget, get a MIM Cray Strat for $700 new.

You're right on those points. Besides, why support a business selling bogus Fender products? If anything, it was kind of fun solving the mystery. Thanks for all the help.

Hi.
I read this subject and I have some questions to Fender Staff.
I have 2011 Custom Shop 57 limited edition closed classic Stratocaster bought in official Fender network 6 months ago.
So it is a guitar with Fender logo decal on the finishing bur CS logo in covered by finishing.
My guitar had a fabrication error- neck tilt.
Country CS service did reparation of tilt by neck pocket surface correction.
In result every signs, numbers and stamps which were on the pocket surface dasn't exist.
After service reparation I recived guitar without any information about intervention. So I don't have any proof and every production informations are lost.
What is now value of this guitar if I will try to sell it?
What discussion will be around my guitar? Original or no?
What about this kind of reparation without any recreation of inormation?
Why Fender in putting this info on guitar if after reparation nobody is taking care about it?
Like I wrote in my post "Problem with 57 time machine stratocaster" still I have a problem with quality of neck connection (clearance in the neck pocket) which is OK for Custom Shop Staff in my country.

Than you for answer

Thise guitar does not strike me as being a Custom Shop Guitar. I would suggest doing your homework first.
The decal and neckplate are wrong. Also, ask for the COA. A few have come my way, but I avoid CS guitars without a COA.

The serial number being "SZ" indicates an artist model guitar.
