Total beauty. Can't stop looking at it. Congrats!

I am in Norway at the mo but we will be reunited with my new Strat tomorrow :D

Shouldn't all hotels have a 'Guest Guitar' for those of us away from our beloved instruments?

We have a Forum member in Norway who might have been good enough to provide you with a loaner, given enough advanced notice.

Go to the Custom Shop link and find the Showcase Dealer listings. That's likely the best place to begin. If you need additional help, we'll first need to know where you livel

It has been a fifteen month wait but worth every minute.

Thanks to Mike Eldred for getting me in touch with my new best friend TK.

We were told before Christmas that it was on its way but it has to go to the Netherlands (HQ) before it can come to the UK and we had some snow.

I have mailed TK but if anyone reading this has contact with him, just tell him how pleased I am.

It is my first master built order and like a dipstick I didn't spec tuners. TK has furnished the guitar with some particularly interesting devices. Anyone like to tell me what they are please.

I think this guitar is built to the Clapton platform with Vintage Noiseless pickups, active mid-boost circuit (without the TBX) and a highly figured museum-grade birdseye maple neck featuring Eric's personal favourite soft V profile.

Though you've not been clear about the specs on your order, I would concur with Chromeface on this and to add that the quality of that neck wood is on a par with one of the guitars just auctioned off in NYC, a black stratocaster which was built by TK as a spare for the Cream Reunion concert. It too, had staggered tuners so it might be fair to say that you've been the beneficiary of some creative ideas which were initially intended for 'the man' himself. I wonder though if your guitar has a TBX or a standard tone pot in the position below the volume potl The way to tell is that the TBX will have a detente (a definite stop) at the 5 position, whereas a standard tone pot will roll cleanly from zero to ten. The TBX will accent the treble as you go higher or the bass as you go lower. Well done. It's beautiful piece, and getting 'high fives' from Alain only speaks more for it.

Thanks for the interest guys. I spec'd it without TBX as per the man's guitar. I also asked for the birdseye because I saw it on another guitar over here and it is just beautiful. The whole project was prompted by the posting by OlliT here>

The idea about the neck: I am going to accept fully and add to the guitars history immediately 8)

That closes the circle for sure. If you Google Bonham's you can find your way to past auctions results, and if you go into the Clapton Auction Catalog, you'll find that guitar (a Mark Kendrick buildk-lot 136)described, as well as it's selling price. My nose was a good foot away from it, as well as the others, during the preview and, personally, I think your guitar buries any of the Stratocasters which were offered, with perhaps the exception of the "T-Mobile" whose top had to be seen up close and personal. A photo doesn't do it justice. (The website will allow you to zoom in on the photo]. Also a Kendrick, it's specs are there for your perusal. It went for a pretty reasonable price, all things considered.

I'm inquiring as to whether the shop would do a repro on it. A long shot I would say due to the fact that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, its a true one-off, and the interests of that buyer ought to be protected. I would understand completely, but would seriously consider the idea if it having it built were it possible, and the price reasonable. It would have to be a TK though.

Classic looking Strat. Love the birdseye maple. I would love to have a MB built to my specs. I'm envious! Have fun!
