You'll already have a starter by the names stamped at the end of the neck.

Yea, I know that. Herbie Castellum was the man that shaped the neck. I'm wondering about the body as well. Consider this was early in the Custom Shop game...Did John English help? How about Black? Did all of the builders "pitch in" and work on that run of 100 together? Did 1 or 2 builders focus on the project? You follow me?

i have a stratocaster CS 1954 built in 1991 and got the same names on the neck and body . mike eldred told me that jay madore was at the assembly by that time . anyway this is the best strat i have ever played and i think the guitars from that period were really good . the crew by that time was about 50 people among them jay black , amicay , esparza, page, suhr, ponce , hamel , inawade, madore, stuart , etc....what else !

I have an Art Esparza 1992 CS '57 Reissue. AE transcribed in the body under the pickguard. Can anybody tell me where I can read a biography about Art? I read on a website he built at least one guitar for Eric Clapton, but not sure if that's true. This guitar is miraculously and wondrously formed. It is a thing of great beauty.

Hi I wonder if the 62 is my old guitar, I think no 9 or 7. Check out www.doonicans.com gallery. I sold it to put towards another Bill Carson signature - my third! The 62 was nice. I sold it to a guy who shipped it to Europe, possibly Holland.

Should be great to have a sticky thread list of builders w/ matching years on this forum. (If this is ok with forum rules I don't know)
- I've a CS62 w/ 4-16-93 neck date & "Nestor"(not sure) Montes.
(Fender réf. database begins in 1994, mine was not in the records)
- found D. Pallares on 9-13-94, an "Ocean green" '62. (on the bay)

Wow, that was strange looking at those pictures! I have no 22 and I have been searching for info on that guitar for several months now. The last reply I got from Fender Artist Relations was that they didn't have any info on CS guitars from that period. Any info any of you might have gotten from mr Page would be awesome. Please PM me if you have something to share.

Here's mine, btw: https://www.icloud.com/photostream/no-no/#A15qXGF1IdPPH

BTW, I'm pretty sure the fingerboard is Pao Ferro, not Rosewood.
