I bought recently a Custom shop 62 custom strat built on 1992.

I want to know how authenticate it because the serial is strange (100 of 100 on the headstock). It also has the old custom shop logo on the headstock. Il seems to be a limited run.

The neck is a beautiful bird eyes mapple neck with rosewood fretboard. The body colour is Cimarron Red with a beautiful flamed top. The hardware colour is gold.

The certificate has the old custom shop logo and is signed John Page.

Thanks for your help

WOW! looks to be one of the Flame Top '62s they did. basically an Ash body, flame maple top, and gold hardware. I've seen several on the bay before. looks beautiful!

What a beauty. I'm flabbergasted.

Thanks for your comments :)
I took a look on the neck pocket and on the neck. They have red old custom shop stamps dates (7/92) and also two names stamped : Madone on the body, Castelum on the neck. Does anybody know if these two persons worked in the custom Shop?

Thanks for your help.

You can find here https://picasaweb.google.com/108276591648557590182/Custom62Details# pics of the guitar (neck pocket, neck hell, body). I saw on the neck stamp '92' Ltd. Ed.

Anybody knows what is it?

Is everything ok on the guitar?

Thanks for your help.

both of them either were QC inspectors or maybe the woodworkers... only Mike could answer that.

I was very happy to see this thread. I have number 15. I actually contacted John Page about my guitar wanting to know more about it. He claims that it was developed with Bill Carson in mind. I've only seen 3 since 1992. Mine...yours...and number 9 was sold on eBay a long time ago. It's a fantastic guitar and I'm extremely proud of it.

Do you know what question I'd really like answered about this guitar? I'd like to know WHO built them. Who were the original custom shop builders? Who had their skilled hands on my guitar? I would love to know. I don't want the information for the purpose of elevating the status of my guitar...I'd never sell it. I've held on to this guitar longer than any other one in my 35 years of playing. Although I have a pretty nice collection of guitars, when it's time to go play in front of a crowd, I always grab my red strat. I really do love it.

You'll already have a starter by the names stamped at the end of the neck.
