Last week I got a Todd Krause Clapton Masterbuilt in Midnight Blue with a flame neck. This plays & feels so differently then my other EC Strats, both CS & Artist. Sustain, tone & feel are awesome. I now totally understand what everyone is talking about. TK is a genius!!!! Plus, this flame neck rocks.

Congrats also from me. I am playing a American Deluxe Strat and now looking for a guitar from the CS. But I have the comfortable problem: Should I take a Tele or a Strat. If it should be a Strat, what model would be the best for me. It should be a guitar for the life - such as yours. How did you come to your decission?

Greetings from germany
Christian

Welcome to the Forums. You ask a question that's often put to us and the answer is generally based on the time tested observations that you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your princess. The basic body designs of a Tele and a Strat are quite different in feel, although recent modifications of Tele models have featured the off-set waist. Then there are the differences in neck profiles among the generations of these guitars from vintage to modern, as well as neck radii, fretwire, fretboard materials, bridge/saddles, vibrato etc, not to mention the wide variety of pickup and wiring configurations that are or have been available, choice of body and neck woods, hardware, plastic and finish. Most players investing the kind of money involved in purchasing either a Custom Shop production model, or a special order Teambuilt or Masterbuilt guitar are already seasoned players who know what their needs are, what they are comfortable playing, and have an intrinsic understanding of all of the factors I've
outlined before they make a choice, or submit to a final design. Many of us have been through multiple instruments in this process. If you have yet to make this journey, I suggest you do so investing with limited funds, comparing and contrasting, as well as reading the many threads in the Forums on both guitars, and similarly related and relevant topics until you are finally ready.
Doc
